Betta Fish Care- What kind of sickness is this?
I've have my betta Momo for little over a month now and he's been a happy fish. He made a bubble nest and all. Well after I changed his bowl the first time he seemed okay and he ate fine. Then last week he started to swim around less and eat less which was odd for him considering that this fish liked to eat and was constantly moving around even following my finger . Over the weekend he started to slink towards the bottom of the fish bowl and lay there. I thought it was his water so I changed his water again. He started to staay more towards the top of the water now and get some of his energy back, but he's still not eating, not really energetic , and he has these red almost bump spot looking things at the end of his fins. I looked it up everywhere and couldn't find anything and I called petsmart where I got the fish but they said that if something happened to my fish there's always more. Can anyone help me?
I've received conflicting Betta fish care information. Feed him once or twice a day? Or just 3 times a week?
Change 25 % of his water once a week, or 1 2 of his tank, once a week. Change all of his water once a month or never at all. Fishie is in a 1.5 gallon tank with an air pump and filter.Thank you
Some help with * Betta fish * care please?
I have one Betta in a 2 litre half a gallon tank no other fish , with some pebbles and some fake plants. I change its water whole every week, I let the water tap water sit 24hrs before the change. I clean the tank. Ah, at the pet store they told me that I should put a drop of this water conditioner in the water the bottle says " Special for Bettas" , it claims to neutralize the chlorine, heavy metals, etc. Anyway I put a drop of it every water change. I feed him TetraBetta floating mini pellets twice a day. I do the mirror thingie once a day and talk to him sometimes. My questions are 1 Does my Betta requires a filter, taking into account that I change the water and clean the tank every week?2 Does the water conditioner is neccesary?3 Am I feeding him too much? The pellets are about the size of its eyes. Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks a lot. 10 points.

Betta Fish Care Tips?
I have a male betta named Florence Flo and i keep in a maybe a half gallon bowl, he has enough space to swim around freely and i have a little easter island head decoration for him to hid behind but i feel bad because his water is always getting dirty and i don't want to change it so frequently because he might get sick. And i don't have a light that i can keep on all day so he is in the dark most of the day, i feel bad about his living conditions, I don't want to have a huge tank and everything, i dont have the room i'm just 13 so i can't afford very expensive items. I want to get him a heater, and a water filtration system so about how big of a tank should i get and what kind of heater and filter should i get, i also want to know where i could go to get those items for cheap. I was also wondering if a bio orb would be ok for my betta. I would also love for just a bunch of betta tips, like how to keep him busy and not have him just sleeping and being bored all day, and just general care on how to keep him healthy and happy. Florence is also a very jumpy betta he gets spooked easily so what can i do to give him a place to hid and sleep and feel comfortable. I know how to take care of him its just i want to improve the care i give him, Thanks

Betta Fish Care, Help?
Okay, so my husband got a betta fish and we had him in a little round fish bowl with some rocks and a small little tree. We feed him his little betta pellets and he's cool but he kind of hangs out up by the end of the tree and he looked well....sad? maybe sickly? So my husband feels sorry for him goes to Walmart and gets a big ol hexagon tank, with a warming unit and a filter and a light with just some pebbles it's tacky as hell for 1 but now I feel bad because the poor thing looks all sprawled out with his fins and his gulls are pretty open and he s hanging out by the filter and the heater I turned the heater off and I feel like he's suffocating in it? I want to put him back in his reg little normal fish bowl, the question is should I really or this all just to stressful for him???He looks like the first set of pictures. Do you think if I put him in his bowl until I cleaned the other big tank really good and then put him back into the big tank, if it would be too stressful for him or if he'd prob. be okay?

Betta Fish care help, please?
My friend has had a betta for a little over a year now, I think, and I knew she didn't really take good care of it, and she knew it, too. Today when I went down their for a get together thing, we finally decided that I would take the fish. I would always hound her about cleaning his water and such My mom agreed, and now I'm very excited to have him here with me But I know his conditions are not ideal. The bowl is too small and there is only one little plastic plant in there. He also seems a bit listless, which has me worried. He's a pretty boy, and I want to bring out the best in him. He will have to stay in his bowl until either late Tuesday or sometime on Wednesday, which is the next day my mom has off to take me to the pet store so I can buy some things for him. I would like to get him a 5 gallon tank and some more plants plus a little hidey area for him. Would you suggest a filter, or no filter? From your experience, do they do better with or without it? I read that a filter may cause stress for them because of the current, which makes it harder for them to swim, something that they aren't used to or good at because of their long fins. And not to mention the fact that their fins could get stuck in the filter. Without a filter, I would most likely get a mesh top. Would I still need a heater or something? And how often would I have to clean his tank out?As for food, I'm thinking of using a staple diet of the small betta pellet things, but supplimenting it with frozen bloodworms and brineshrimp. How many little pellets a day should he get, and how often should he be given the bloodworms brineshrimp? Would you ever suggest feeding the betta an occasional live one?If you can answer those questions, that would be great But don't limit your reply to those answers any information or tips you can give me would help. Thanks for taking the time to read I know it was a little long. P.S. Anyone know of an active betta fish forum?
